We are in the communication business, meaning, we need to really listen and work with our clients. Curious prospective customers generally call or stop by to learn what they can expect from your salon. Most often, customers can’t really learn what to expect from social media.  For instance, one thing Instagram lacks is reviews. My business grew by 34% this summer and continues to do so in spite of my inability to update my social media site.  I had zero time to do photoshoots with clients.  Customer experience means way more to me anyway. People come because of reviews from clients who tell friends and family about how they were treated.  Wrapping a warm towel around someone’s neck and offering a beverage, and most importantly taking time for a proper consultation is the most valuable thing we can do for our business.  Our clients want an experience, not to be used as a social media, ego feeding frenzy.  I recommend building a professional relationship and improving the experience for clients above all else.
